Hey guys! It’s Joshua with Poolbots.com, and today we are looking at all of the different filter types out there, from the ultra-fine to the oversized leaf bag, and what to use each for, so you can maximize your pool cleaning efficiency and choose a robot that is right for your pool!
When it comes to filter media, there are three main types available: fine, ultra-fine, and the oversized leaf bag. Each of these has their special areas of cleaning in which they specialize in.
The fine filter is the cartridge that comes standard with practically every robotic pool cleaner. Most robotic pool cleaners that come with only one filter media type will come with this type, and that’s because it does a little bit of everything. It can pick up some smaller debris suspended in your water as well as collect some larger debris such as small leaves and twigs, but it also is the master of none of these. The fine filter baskets and cartridges are fixed in size, so they fill up quickly with larger debris or even get clogged at the intake, meaning you have to empty them often if your pool is near trees.
